“We built Blue Sage THC because our community needed an option for natural topical healing. Back before California legalized recreational cannabis, our founder, Tawnia, was part of a Central Coast patient collective in search of natural alternatives to pharmaceuticals for pain relief. Following a back surgery, Tawnia discovered that THC-dominant creams made her feel better–seeing then the potential for plant-based topicals to help others in her community. She soon perfected a creamy, holistic recipe using the whole cannabis plant and handed it out to fellow patients. They raved about the all-natural ingredient list and the effectiveness of this wonder topical.”
Soon, Tawnia teamed up with business partner Torane Phelps, and Blue Sage THC was born.

Tawnia Sodergren
Founder & CEO
Tawnia Sodergren is a lifelong creator whose passions span both the arts and plant medicine. As a yoga teacher, herbal enthusiast, artist, and the founder/CEO of Blue Sage THC, Tawnia’s diversity of talents combine in her holistic approach to healing and creativity.

Tawnia has long recognized cannabis’s magic in both healing and recreation. During California’s pioneering Prop 215 era, she deepened her connection to the plant by crafting baked goods for dispensaries while creating her own skincare line. In 2014, a back injury led her to discover the healing power of infusing cannabis oils in topicals to treat pain. Adding full-spectrum cannabis oil to her artisanal skin cream, she finally found relief from the aches in her back. This experience became the foundation for her brand, Blue Sage Topical Healing Cream, which is designed to bring the therapeutic benefits of cannabis directly to the skin.
In 2016, Tawnia met her now-business partner, Torane Phelps, and together they continue to build on a shared passion for wellness and natural healing. Tawnia’s journey is a fusion of creativity, healing, and a steadfast commitment to holistic wellness, blending her love for art and plant medicine into every aspect of her life and work.

With nearly a decade of experience working alongside Tawnia, Torane Phelps has played a pivotal role in creating and promoting Blue Sage THC. As the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Torane oversees all financial operations, ensuring growth and stability in the rapidly evolving cannabis industry.

Before his work with Blue Sage, Torane honed his skillset in diverse industries, such as music event and tour production, graphics/design, and marketing. His unique background enables him to draw on broad professional experiences and approach his role with a creative yet analytical mindset.
Torane holds a degree in Communications from Menlo College, which further complements his multifaceted skills in both business and creative endeavors.
